Live in Bardi. The Best Town You've Never Heard Of.

Tired of the "rat race"? The commute? The endless stream of bad coffee? Welcome home.

Seriously, Why Bardi?

Look, we're not going to sugarcoat it. We're a small Italian town in the Parma Apennines. We have a castle. A big, old, ridiculously impressive one. And a bunch of people who actually know their neighbors. If you're a digital nomad, a retiree, or just someone with a strong desire to stop pretending to like urban life, you're our kind of people. We've got more fresh air than gossip (but we have both).

The imposing medieval castle of Bardi

The Castle: Our Official Argument for Moving Here

It's a castle. You get to live in a town with a literal castle. It's a thousand years old. It sits on a red jasper rock. It's so cool that it hosts things like "Horror Nights" and Harry Potter-themed events. It's a great place to send the kids when they're being too loud. Just tell them a ghost lives there and they'll be busy for hours. We're pretty sure they're not lying about the ghosts.

Nature: The Best Part of Your Daily Commute

Forget traffic jams. Your new commute is a scenic walk through lush forests, next to crystal-clear streams, or up a mountain trail. We have more trees than people. You can go mushroom picking, listen to birds that aren't pigeons, and actually see the stars at night. Your lungs will thank you. Your therapist will be out of a job. It's a win-win.

The Food & Climate: We've Got Your Basic Needs Covered

The summers are warm and sunny. The winters are cold and, yes, snowy. It's called "seasons." Look it up. More importantly, the food is incredible. We're in Parma, the home of Parmigiano Reggiano. You will eat things that will make you question your entire life's culinary choices. We have restaurants, we have local shops, and we have grandmas who will happily feed you until you can't move. You're welcome.

The Pace of Life: We Take Our Time (And It's Great)

Remember that thing called "rush hour"? We don't. The only thing that moves fast here is a runaway wheel of cheese. We've mastered the art of the long lunch, the afternoon nap, and the evening passeggiata (a leisurely stroll). It might take a little longer to get things done, but that's because we're busy enjoying the journey. You'll be surprised how quickly you forget what a deadline is.

The British-Italian Alliance (aka Fish and Chips)

To our British and Irish friends who think you can't live without a good chippy: we see you. We understand your profound, chip-fueled sorrow. So, once a year, we host an entire festival dedicated to fish and chips. Because we're not just a town with a castle; we're a town that gets it. You're welcome to come, eat your feelings, and then immediately feel better about everything.

Amenities, Hotels, and Your New House

Amenities

We have things. A town hall, a post office, some shops. Everything you need to live a normal, non-insane life. We’re not a big city, but we get by. And we do it with a smile. Mostly. Unless we run out of coffee.

Hotels & B&Bs

Need to test-drive Bardi before committing? Smart. We have charming hotels and bed and breakfasts. Stay for a weekend. See the castle. Eat some cheese. Try to leave without wanting to buy a house. We dare you.

Houses for Sale

Tired of paying a million dollars for a shoebox? You're in luck. The houses here are beautiful, and they don't require you to sell a kidney. We've got rustic farmhouses and town apartments. You can finally afford that dog you've always wanted. Or a goat. We don't judge.

Festivals: Where We Party Like It's 1399

We have festivals. Lots of them. From yoga in the castle to local artisan markets. We even have "medieval pageants." You get to see people in funny costumes pretend to live in the Middle Ages. It's a great excuse to drink some wine and eat some food. You'll fit right in.
